KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu’s defamation suit filed five years ago against Athi Kumanan, the former chief group editorial advisor of the Malaysia Nanban newspaper, will carry on even after the latter’s demise.
The High Court ruled yesterday that the suit would now be one of malicious falsehood which was one of the three causes of action, the other two being conspiracy to defame and libel.
