JOHOR BARU: Oil samples have been taken from five merchant ships berthed at Tanjung Piai and in Kukup waters near Pontian following reports that a ship's oil discharge had killed the fish in 68 cages in Kukup.
State Department of Environment (DOE) director Dr Abdul Rahman Awang said the Marine Department had detained the ships to enable the department to obtain the oil samples.
