THE Dewan saw an uproar from DAP MPs after a motion tabled by their colleague to discuss the shortage of diesel in the country was rejected by Speaker Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib.

Chong Chieng Jen (DAP – Bandar Kuching) urged Ramli to reconsider his decision. Chong had stated in his notice on April 19 that the matter should be discussed at yesterday's sitting.

In his reply, Ramli had said that Chong should not have stated the date for the motion as it was up to the Chair to decide on such dates.

He also said that since two motions were received on the same day, he could only allow one motion to be tabled.

Ramli had allowed the motion by Lim Hock Seng (DAP – Bagan) to discuss the rise in Penang ferry fares.
