JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor urged his subjects, regardless of race or religion, to practise mutual consensus among themselves at all times.

“Consensus brings blessings. Continue to hold to principles of mutual consensus. Don't forget,” he said, when speaking at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his birthday celebrations at Istana Besar yesterday.

Giving thanks to Allah for the well-being of his people, the Sultan urged his subjects to work hard and to be honest in ensuring the prosperity of the state and the people.

Present were Sultanah of Johor Sultanah Zanariah, members of Johor royalty, Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman and his wife Datin Jemilah Ariffin, state executive councillors and elected representatives.

The Sultan's grandson, Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, headed the 515 award and medal recipients.

Tunku Ismail, the son of the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, was conferred the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Pertama (SPMJ), which carries the title of “Datuk”. – Bernama
