TAIPING: The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) and the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry must come up with a fail-safe strategy to protect the country’s halal certification, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.
He feared that Malaysia’s representatives abroad might be questioned about the halal issue and this could hurt the country’s position as a halal food hub.
