IPOH: The Religious Department should train its enforcement officers on the proper use of their powers when conducting raids, said Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran.
Commenting on the arrest of transgender Ravi Varma Nambiar by Taiping Religious Department officers last Tuesday, Kulasegaran said the department should have checked whether Ravi Varma was a Muslim before arresting him.
