Weather expected to be fair, then stormy

COOLING OFF: With blue skies in the background and hot weather again, swimmers Jeremy and Nizam are enjoying a cool dip at the Luna swimming pool at Menara Pan Global in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. 

Fair weather is the forecast for the city this morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon with temperatures at a high of 34°C and low of 24°C, according to the Meteorological Services Department. 

The states in the peninsula, and Sabah and Sarawak are also forecast to have fair weather in the morning except for Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang where scattered rain is expected in one or two places along the coast. 

Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan and Selangor are forecast to experience thunderstorms in the afternoon while scattered rain is expected in one or two places in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak and Kedah. 

In Sarawak, the divisions of Sibu, Sarikei, Kapit, Seri Aman, Kuching, Samarahan and Betong are forecast to have thunderstorms in one or two places. 

Fair weather is forecast in the afternoon for the rest of the states in the peninsula and Sabah. – Bernama
