ALOR STAR: The Kampung Permatang Ibus junction’s dreadful image is finally changing. The place, which the locals call simpang maut (death junction), has been accident-free for the past 10 days, thanks to newly-installed traffic lights.
Kampung Permatang Ibus Village Development and Security Committee chairman Mansor Ali said no accidents had been reported at the crossroads after the lights, costing more than RM60,000, started operating on Feb 7.
