KOTA KINABALU: Southern Philippines Muslim leaders are hoping for OIC to broker a ceasefire with a breakaway Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) faction battling government troops in Jolo Island.

“Any kind of aid for the thousands of people affected by the conflict would be appreciated,” Sulu Co-ordinating Council executive officer Amilbahar Amilhassan told The Star by telephone from Jolo yesterday.
