PETALING JAYA: Only two types of firecrackers – Pop-pop and Happy Boom/Magic Pop – are allowed for the Chinese New Year, as they are safe and do not contain flammable substances, Deputy Internal Security Minister Chia Kwang Chye said.
In a press statement yesterday, he said the 1995 ban on all other types of firecrackers and fireworks remained in force.
