PENANG: Chants of “ohm shanti” reverberated in the air as thousands of devotees accompanying a silver chariot bearing the statue of Lord Muruga prayed for the souls of over 200,000 tsunami victims.
Pothu Bhajanai Kulu prayer group chairman T. Ramachandran said special prayers for the victims would be conducted periodically along the procession route from Kovil Veedu in Penang Street to the Nattukotai Chettiar Temple in Waterfall Road.
