PARIS: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi arrived here early yesterday to attend a four-day international conference on biodiversity.

The Malaysia Airlines aircraft carrying the Prime Minister touched down at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in the early morning.

Abdullah was accompanied by Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Adenan Satem.

Abdullah is among the five world leaders, including host President Jacques Chirac and key world figures in natural resources and environment, who will be addressing the conference.

He will call on Chirac at the Elysee Palace before departing for home.

The conference, themed Science and Governance, organised by France and sponsored by Unesco is part of the ongoing global effort to curb the loss of biodiversity by 2010. – Bernama
