SEREMBAN: Two policemen and a prison warder were among six men charged at a magistrates court here with committing robberies last month.
Policemen Shahril Azuan Ayob, 23, and Nor Shafik Azizi Narahaman, 20, warder Mohd Ismail Ramzahan, 24, and an unemployed man, Mohd Farid Abdul Jalil, 26, were jointly charged with using a pistol to rob Lim Chun Yee, 26, of RM1,210 and a Samsung cellphone.
They were alleged to have committed the offence at Taman Bukit Blossom in Rahang here at 2.30pm on Dec 24.
The four face a second charge of using a pistol to rob Wong Hon Loon, 28, of RM1,930 behind a food court in Bukit Kepayang at 4.51pm the same day.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Mohd Farid faces another charge with two others, Liew Kai Ching, 21, and Rosdi Mohd, 26, of using a revolver to steal a BMW 318i worth RM180,000 from Khoo Kim Man, 20, in front of a house in Taman Makmur, Jalan Tun Dr Ismail, at 1.15am on Dec 8.
Mohd Farid was also charged with Shahril Azuan, Nor Shafik Azizi and Liew with using a pistol to rob Lim of RM3,000 and a RM400 Nokia cellphone at Lorong Merbok, Taman Bukit Blossom in Rahang here at 11.30pm on Dec 9.
All the accused claimed trial to the subsequent charges.
Magistrate Ahmad Faizadh Yahya fixed March 14 for the case to be re-mentioned and granted a RM4,000 bail for each accused.
Liew was represented by lawyer T. Ravindran while the other five accused were not represented. Chief Insp Alex Chandra Gabriel prosecuted.
