JOHOR BARU: Nine out of 16 local authorities in Johor are in the red following failure to collect backdated and outstanding assessments and other payments, the state assembly was told yesterday.
State Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique said the local authorities included the Johor Baru City Council as well as the Muar, Kluang and Batu Pahat Municipal Councils.
