PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal has directed that the Director-General of the National Registration Department (NRD) be included as a party in an originating summons by a woman seeking to delete the word “Islam” from her identity card.
Justice Datuk Gopal Sri Ram made the order yesterday as the court wanted the NRD to clarify the matter and explain why the woman's application in 1997 to delete the word was rejected.
