KOTA KINABALU: The latest Philippines claim that top Abu Sayyaf leader Khadaffy Janjalani and a group of about 20 followers had escaped into Sabah may be a false alarm.
“We believe it is a false alarm. There is no indication showing that Janjalani and his group had entered Sabah,” state’s Fifth Infantry Brigade Brig Jen Mohd Shahrin Abdul Majid said yesterday.
