KUCHING: An acrobatic troupe and a stuntman from China thrilled a 2,000-strong crowd at the Indoor Stadium here on Monday night with their feats.
Stuntman Li Chuan Yong amazed the audience by pulling a car over a distance of 20m using only his eyelids, while the acrobats showed off their balancing, juggling and contortionist skills.
Their performances were part of a China Extravaganza charity live show jointly organised by Hock Star Entertainment Industry Bhd and Kuching North City Hall’s sports and recreation club to raise funds for charitable organisations.
Other performers in the show included a “magic mask” dance by 15-year-old Xie Li Li, which involved rapid changes of masks, and the 10-member China Ladies Symphony which played traditional Chinese musical instruments.
After performing in Kuching for two nights, the show’s troupe will perform in Sri Aman tonight, Sarikei tomorrow, Sibu (Nov 26-27), Kapit (Nov 28), Mukah (Nov 29), Bintulu (Nov 30), Miri (Dec 1-2), Limbang (Dec 3) and Lawas (Dec 4).
Proceeds from the show will go to various organisations including the Sarawak AIDS Concern Society and the Sarawak Cheshire Home.
