KUALA LUMPUR: The Court of Appeal has ruled that the wearing of headgear (serban) in schools is a disciplinary matter which falls under the prerogative of the headmaster or headmistress.

Court of Appeal judges Justices Gopal Sri Ram, Abdul Aziz Mohamad and Ghazali Mohd Yusoff, in unanimously allowing an appeal by Sekolah Kebangsaan Serting (Felda) headmistress Fatimah Sihi, also set aside the High Court decision to revoke her expulsion order against three pupils seven years ago.
