KUALA LUMPUR: Taxi permits have been extended from five to seven years in line with the commercial lifespan for such vehicles fixed by the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (CVLB).
Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development Minister Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the permits were previously issued for five years and operators needed to apply for extensions which were sometimes denied and resulted in the taxis becoming unusable.
