GOMBAK: Charred skeletal remains of an unidentified victim were found in a burnt car in Jalan Gombak Lama at Km38 here yesterday.

A villager who went looking for firewood in a nearby jungle, found a Proton Iswara Aeroback that was badly damaged in a fire and discovered the remains in the back seat of the car at 5pm.

Gombak CID chief Deputy Supt Wan Zainulddin Wan Mahmood said no identification papers were found on the victim.

“We are tracking the owner of the car, said to belong to one Teh Cheng Kok believed to be a 25-year old debt collector from Banting,'' he said.

It is learnt that Teh had gone on his collection rounds when he was reported missing.
