Johor sees 100,000 taking up amnesty offer

JOHOR BARU: At least 100,000 illegal Indonesian immigrants are expected to return home under the amnesty programme for the Hari Raya celebrations, Johor immigration director Abu Bakar Yeop said. 

Thousands were expected to converge here to board ferries to Batam Island, Tanjung Pinang in Bintan Island and Tanjung Balai in Karimun Island before heading back to their respective villages, he said.
