Abdullah to attend swearing-in of Susilo

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi leaves for Indonesia today on a two-day visit during which he will witness the swearing-in of Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the new president of Indonesia. 

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar and several senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Foreign Ministry. 

Abdullah will attend the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow at the Hall of the People’s Consultative Assembly, Wisma Putra said in a statement yesterday. 

After the ceremony, Abdullah will call on President Susilo, it said, adding that Abdullah will return here tomorrow.  

Wisma Putra said the visit and attendance at the swearing-in ceremony will further enhance and strengthen relations between Malaysia and Indonesia. – Bernama
