Reader laments lack of cash prize for Tamil artiste

IT IS not sufficient for Astro's Vaanavil channel to recognise local Tamil artiste R. Shanmugam and honour him with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for local artistes without giving him any cash prize, Malaysian Nanban reported. 

Quoting a reader in the daily's letters column yesterday, the newspaper reported that Shanmugam had dedicated his life towards the development of local Tamil music, culture, literature and arts.
