PETALING JAYA: High scrap metal prices have brought about an increase in the theft of railway track fittings and other material this year, causing widespread disruption to train services and potentially threatening the safety of passengers.
KTM Bhd said it has discovered 97 cases of railway fittings theft so far, more than double the 43 cases reported for the whole of last year.
