SURPRISE RESULTS: (Sept 23) The results of the Umno vice-presidency and supreme council elections shocked many, with the defeat of well-known names and the election of Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Mohamad Isa Abdul Samad as the first vice-president. Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was an incumbent, came in third. The second spot went to Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.

REMAINING RELEVANT: (Sept 19) Umno will target the hearts and minds of the younger generation to ensure its survival, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. To remain relevant, Najib said the party's rejuvenation process had to continue.
