KUALA LUMPUR: The General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) has warned motorists to beware of unauthorised agents urging them to buy cheap motor insurance ahead of the e-insurance scheme to be implemented by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) next month.
PIAM executive director Lim Chia Fook believed that there were syndicates involved in the forgery of motor insurance cover notes, which were trying to get rid of their illegal stocks of forged cover notes before next month.
