Chia asked Anwar to conduct enquiry, court told

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Eric Chia had in 1996 asked the then finance minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to conduct an enquiry into his alleged wrongdoings when he headed Perwaja Steel Sdn Bhd, two letters tendered to the Sessions Court reveal. 

Chia had written the two letters to Anwar in 1996 after a Price Waterhouse report made the allegation. In one letter, dated June 10, 1996, Chia urged Anwar to conduct an enquiry.
