KUALA LUMPUR: A suspended main board company had acted unjustly when it selectively reduced its chief executive officer’s pay by 30% as a cost cutting measure to save itself from financial doldrums, the Industrial Court ruled.

Court chairman Datin Siti Saleha Abu Bakar therefore found that Kesvaran Murugasu had bona fide grounds to claim constructive dismissal in February 1999, from RNC Corporation Bhd – a manufacturer of construction materials like PVC pipes and fittings, ready-mixed concrete, cement bricks, pre-cast and timber products.
