KUALA LUMPUR: Criticism that the education system is too examination focused has got the attention of the Education Ministry, which is now mulling over the idea of abolishing the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination for Year Six pupils.
Minister Datuk Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said his weekly post-Cabinet meetings had made it a fixed agenda to assess the need for a public examination at the primary level since the first week he took up his post.
