KAJANG: Some 72 inmates of the Semenyih Immigration Detention Centre near here went on a hunger strike yesterday to protest their long detention and alleged poor conditions at the camp.
The inmates refused to take their breakfast and demanded to meet senior officials from the Prisons Department as well as a representative from the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
