LONDON: An event that started as a family gathering of high commission staff and family members in the 1990s has evolved into a major celebration of Malaysia’s unique diversity here.

On Saturday, more than 800 members of the Malaysian community turned up for the day-long Malaysian Carnival 2004 held at the sprawling ground of the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre in Brickendonbury, Hertford, about 40km north of here.
