KUALA LUMPUR: The Government is looking into the technical aspects of repealing the status of Kampung Baru – one of the oldest and largest urban Malay settlements here – to enable redevelopment of the 96ha site.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said its status as a Malay Agriculture Settlement was unique and different from Malay Reserve Land, which would be “unlocked” for development under a proposed amendment to the National Land Code next month.
