17 years’ jail for gun possession

KUALA LUMPUR: A 27-year-old man was sentenced to a total of 17 years’ jail and given six strokes of the rotan for possession of a revolver and six bullets. 

Sessions Court judge Akhtar Tahir sentenced Kuar Kok Thean, a furniture-shop worker, to 12 years’ jail for possessing a .38 Smith & Wesson special revolver at a video-game shop in Jalan Selingsing 4 at Sentul at 1.30pm on Aug 8, 2002.
