THE Bar Council has proposed that senior lawyers be compelled to volunteer as judges for a certain period each year to ease the shortage that is causing a backlog of cases up to 2007, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Quoting council chairman Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari, the report said the proposal ought to be considered since the experience and expertise of senior lawyers could be used to ensure smooth process of the justice system.
