IPOH: A goods train almost jumped off the tracks near Banir in Air Kuning, Perak, after steel plates used to secure the railway track were stolen.
Perak police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Asari Mokhtar said the empty train became unstable when it passed the 231st kilometre of the Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur railway line, about 50km from here, last Sunday because the steel plates, including the nuts and bolts, were missing.
