KUALA TERENGGANU: The Public Service Department (PSD) is satisfied with the education loan repayment, as it has not faced any problem in recovering the loans from students.

This is because the PSD has provided various flexible and easy repayment schemes so that it will not burden borrowers who have just obtained jobs, PSD director-general Tan Sri Jamaluddin Damanhuri said yesterday.

“We always encourage students to come to the PSD so that we know their problems and if necessary, we will give them certain flexibility so that it will not burden them.

“This approach has encouraged them to continue to repay their loan,” he told reporters at the PSD With Customers Day programme here.

So far, no legal action had been instituted against students for failing to repay their loans, he said.

On the Customers Day programme, Jamaluddin said the PSD was glad that the programme had received overwhelming response. – Bernama
