Kadir: Jakim must consult ministries on guidelines

KUALA LUMPUR: It is the norm for government agencies to discuss with relevant ministries before issuing guidelines on sensitive matters, said Information Minister Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir. 

Abdul Kadir said this in reply to a statement by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Abdullah Md Zain last Wednesday that the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) would produce broadcasting guidelines in two months.
