IPOH: Being HIV-positive is not a good mitigating factor when appealing for a lenient sentence, a High Court judge said when upholding a 36-month jail sentence by a magistrate’s court against a drug addict.
Justice V.T. Singham said it was more so when the accused had previous drug-related convictions and that he had brought the infliction upon himself.
