KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians Mohd Ikhwan Abdullah and Abi Dzar Jaafar were just 16-year-olds when they attended a madrasah in Kandahar, Afghanistan, but it was no ordinary religious school.
The Maahad Arabiyah school was financed by Osama bin Laden, now the worlds number one terror suspect, and the recommendation for the duo's admission came from the Jemaah Islamiah (JI).
