KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s decision to engage China as a friend and not an adversary has helped the country to establish strong ties with the economic giant.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia took pride in having led the way for Asean to normalise relations with China when his father and the second Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein formalised diplomatic ties with Beijing in 1974.
