ALOR GAJAH: The facilities at the Machap Umboo detention centre for illegal immigrants awaiting deportation need to be upgraded because they were built in the 1980s.
State immigration director Abdul Rahman Md Noor said only minor repairs were carried out on several wooden buildings housing the illegals since the department took over in 1992.
