PETALING JAYA: The “mentris besar and chief ministers club” has again shown to be a strong force within Umno as eight of them have received among the most nominations in the contest for the 25 supreme council seats. 

Five of them – Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo (Selangor), Datuk Seri Syed Razak Syed Zain (Kedah), Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali (Perak ), Datuk Mohamad Hassan (Negri Sembilan) and Datuk Musa Aman (Sabah) – are even in the top ten in terms of nominations.
