PETALING JAYA: Converging winds that resulted in a cyclonic system was the cause of the heavy rain experienced over several parts of Peninsular Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur, according to the Meteorological Services Department.
Winds from the north and south that converged over Perak and that resulted in the formation of the cyclonic system that drew thick clouds towards that state, a spokesman at the departments central forecast office said.
