Toll-booth attendant killed in crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A toll-booth attendant was killed and four of his friends were injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a divider near Taman Kuchai Lama here. 

The victim, Rizalman Mohd Hisham, 24, from Kampung Pasir Baru, who was sitting in the back seat, was thrown out of the car by the impact and was run over by a motorcycle. 

Rizalman, who works for New Pantai Expressway Sdn Bhd, died on the spot in the 5.15pm accident yesterday. 

It is learnt he and five friends were heading towards Taman Kuchai Lama when the driver lost control of his car while overtaking another car.  

The car skidded, spun several times, hit the divider and broke into two parts – one was found at the divider while the other on the emergency lane several metres away. 

In another accident in Cheras, an engineering student died on the spot after he crashed his motorcycle into a car in Taman Maluri here. 

Engineering student B.P.M. Shankar, 24, collided with a car at Jalan Jejaka at 7pm. 

The motorist had turned towards an apartment block when Shankar crashed into the car's front left door.  

Shankar, who suffered serious head injuries, died on the spot.
