KUALA LUMPUR: It was a loud rhythmic noise emanating down the street one morning in Choisy, Paris, which gave Lemaux Alan his first taste of a culture very different from his own.
Only 10 years old then, Alan tracked down the noise to a group of local Chinese lion-dance performers who were performing stunts in front of a growing crowd of people.
