Accounts clerk charged with receiving RM10,000 bribe

KUCHING: An accounts clerk here was charged with receiving RM10,000 from a third party to be passed to a police officer as an inducement to release from custody a Malaysian and three Filipinas two years ago. 

Soh Choo Boon, 47, from Taman Riverview in Bintawa here was accused of receiving the money to induce Asst Supt Kamaruzaman Ibrahim, who is with the General Operation Force headquarters in Petra Jaya, to release one Pui Keh Jin from custody over an offence under the Immigration Act.
