KUALA LUMPUR: The Government is considering introducing a law to strengthen the people's rights in helping the police to curb crime including snatch thefts, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.
“I am looking into how to beef up the legal provisions to authorise citizens to a certain degree to encourage them to extend their assistance to the police to curb crimes,” he said in his comments on the reported cases of snatch thefts that are becoming rampant.
