JOHOR BARU: The Johor Department of Environment will start checking brick factories in the state to see whether they are using toxic waste to make bricks.
Its director, Tengku Bakry Shah Tengku Johan, said copper dioxide sludge cake could enhance the colour of bricks and the department wanted to see if some factories were using this or similar material.
