MINISTRIES are spending their allocations too fast, resulting in only RM17bil from the Eighth Malaysia Plan left for development projects, parliamentary secretary to the Finance Ministry Datuk Hilmi Yahaya said.
He said: Instead of staggering their expenditure over five years, the ministries spend at a faster rate. So, we are now left with RM17bil from the RM160bil given at the start of the plan in 2000, he said.
