Pematang Pauh election petition hearing next month

PENANG: The Election Court will begin hearing on June 21 the election petition filed by Barisan Nasional candidate for the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat Datuk Pirdaus Ismail to nullify the victory of his opponent Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. 

High Court Justice Hasan Lah, sitting as an Election Judge, fixed June 21 to 25 and July 14 to 16 to hear the 38-year-old former National Mosque Iman’s petition to annul the election results for the seat, which the Parti Keadilan Rakyat president won by 590 votes.
